Brothers In Distress As Stinky Feet Crisis Sweeps Mosques

In a bizarre but growing issue sweeping prayer halls, Muslim men across several communities are complaining that stinky feet are disrupting their concentration during salah.

In a bizarre but growing issue sweeping prayer halls, Muslim men across several communities are complaining that stinky feet are disrupting their concentration during salah.

“It’s hard to focus when the brothers stinky feet in front of you hits harder than Shaytan himself,” said one worshipper, holding back a cough. “We’re supposed to be thinking about Allah, not 3 day old sock smell.”

Traditionally, Muslims perform wudu (ritual ablution), which includes washing the feet before prayer. But according to frustrated attendees, the problem isn’t that brothers aren’t washing—it’s the combination of sweaty socks, synthetic shoes, and limited time that’s creating an odor strong enough to chase some worshippers to the back rows.

“I love my brothers, but some of them need to understand the sunnah of fresh socks,” one man joked. “Febreze should be part of wudu at this point.”

Another made a video about the University of Illinois (UIC) guy students socks stink:

Others have gone so far as to find alternative prayer spots just to avoid kneeling directly behind what some are calling the “Stink Row.”

Mosques have begun quietly addressing the issue, with some placing clean socks in areas for men to grab and quickly wear. Whether this “stinky feet crisis” will fade away or linger like the smell itself remains to be seen.

  1. I think they need to reframe their thinking and recognise Allah’s presence in the foot odour. He is part of all things and is letting his presence be known in the smell of feet from men built in his image.
